Keith Dixon and Anne Elliott have travelled together on an annual holiday to southern Africa for the past eight years - for Keith, many, many more years prior to that.
Leaving our home in Oz at the beginning of June and returning three months later means we escape our cold winters. Even though it is also winter in Africa it is always hot in most of the areas we visit.
This year we decided to share our holiday with you. In saying that, you will notice that it is not a detailed travelogue of every country, city and town we visited - you should go into a specific website for that sort of information.
What we have tried to do is give you information on the accommodation we stayed in, and some of the restaurants we dined in, in the hope that it will assist you in your travel plans. The reason for this is that many websites you look at and travel books you read are not up-to-date and, in some cases, the information contained is completely incorrect.
All the accommodation we stayed in was in the middle range class, and even some of these were very basic. Don't expect to find the same standard of 'mid-range' accommodation in Africa as you would in, say, Australia. Of course, there are hotels and lodges throughout Africa in the top range, but believe us, you will pay megabucks.
If that type of accommodation is what you are looking for, then don't read on. If it isn't then we hope we assist you in planning your trip to many of the  beautiful, amazing and magnificent parts of the mighty continent of Africa. In saying that we would like to point out that the information given is not in any way to be treated as a recommendation. We've also included a few 'travel tips' that aren't usually listed in travel information.
So, enter our website and enjoy!
